Bryan Talbot
Bryan Talbot has worked in underground comics, such as KNOCKABOUT, SLOW DEATH and BRAINSTORM where he created the character "Chester P. Hackenbush" (later americanized as "Chester Williams" by Alan Moore in SWAMP THING.)
He produced SF humour strips FRANK FAZAKERLY, SPACE ACE OF THE FUTURE for AD ASTRA and SCUMWORLD for SOUNDS.
Serialized in NEAR MYTHS and PSSST!, published as a limited series comicbook by Valkyrie and Dark Horse and as a three volume trade paperback by Proutt, his SF epic THE ADVENTURES OF LUTHER ARKWRIGHT, begun in 1978, won many awards and was the first British graphic novel.
Bryan worked for 2000AD with writer Pat Mills on NEMESIS THE WARLOCK and with Alan Grant and John Wagner on JUDGE DREDD.
Over the past few years he has drawn THE NAZZ, HELLBLAZER, SANDMAN, TEKNOPHAGE, THE DEAD BOY DETECTIVES and others and written SHADOWDEATH and THE DREAMING. He wrote and drew MASK for LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT and produced the covers for the cyberpunk series RAGGEDY MAN.
The graphic novel for Dark Horse Comics, THE TALE OF ONE BAD RAT has been published in nine countries and has won numerous awards.
His last graphic novel is HEART OF EMPIRE, also from Dark Horse.
